Orleans Students Released From School Early

(ORLEANS, IN) - Orange County officials say that S.R. 37 in downtown Orleans is completely submerged in water and is now closed to all vehicle traffic.

Local traffic is being detoured by emergency personnel.

Orleans Town officials have declared an emergency situation and are asking all residents to avoid the flooded areas.

Numerous town streets remain flooded and closed as well on the town's west side.

Orleans Police is citing anyone moving barricades or going around them as the vehicles going through the flooded areas area creating waves of water further damaging businesses and homes located along Maple Street.

Additionally, Orleans school students were released from school at 2:00PM this afternoon due to flooding.
