(UNDATED) - The Indiana Attorney General says the high gas prices are not collusion or gouging.
Spokeswoman Molly Butters says they got a few calls over the last couple of days about regular gas going for upwards of $4.17 a gallon.
After some checking, Butters says their office found no evidence of gouging.
Furthermore, the AG's Office cannot open a true investigation unless Governor Mitch Daniels declares a State of Emergency surrounding gas prices.
Butters says Hoosier gas retailers are feeling the pinch just as much as the consumers and are losing money because of the higher gas prices.
Many gas retailers make their money off other services besides gas sales.
