Last updated on Thursday, March 31, 2011

(MARTINSVILLE, IN) - Friends and supporters of the 15-year-old student who was shot at Martinsville West Middle School last week gathered Wednesday night for a candlelight vigil.

The large crowd had a police escort as they walked from the school to the Morgan County Courthouse to support Chance Jackson.

Chance's friend Haylee Strawder says chance is doing well.

Pastor Brian Fleener addressed the crowd, thanking everyone for showing up.

He also read a message from chance's mother who thanked everyone for coming out as welL.

The 15-year-old suspect in the shooting is expected back in court on Friday.
