Bath Salt Being Misused For 'Legal High'

Last updated on Tuesday, March 8, 2011

(BEDFORD, IN) - Lawrence County authorities are warning citizens of a new legal drug currently sweeping the nation.

The product, called Ivory is the latest product being legally sold that is being misused for a high.

Ivory is sold as bath salts, and is being snorted to give a similar effect to that of methamphetamine or cocaine.

Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig says "there is no doubt, this is a very dangerous substance" and "there have been some deaths linked to the drug."

States such as Illinois and Florida have already banned the bath salts.
