Parents Question School Administrators In Shooting Case

Last updated on Monday, March 28, 2011

(MARTINSVILLE, IN) - Students and parents say there were signs of trouble coming from the 15-year-old boy accused in today’s shooting at Martinsville West Middle School.

And they challenge the handling of the situation by school administrators.

"He'd caused trouble with my boyfriend's brother a couple of times," says student Destiny Bellinger.

"So I knew he was a troublemaker."

Bellinger also says she played basketball with Chance Jackson earlier this week; she calls him "a good kid."

Rumors quickly circulated after the shooting of a possible threat posted to the boy's Facebook page.

"If he's got it on Facebook, that's just like him telling a police officer or somebody in charge," says parent Michael Terrel.

"It might have just been words but you should have investigated it."
