New Rules For Firewood Approved

Last updated on Thursday, March 17, 2011

(UNDATED) - The Indiana Natural Resources Commission approved new rules regarding firewood in Indiana.

The new rules are an effort to contain the spread of pests like Emerald Ash Borer, Gypsy Moth, and Asian Longhorned Beetle.

Bundled firewood brought into DNR properties must be certified and stamped by the State or U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Uncertified wood must have the bark removed before entering state parks.
