Hearing Held In Superintendent's Case

Last updated on Wednesday, March 30, 2011

(MITCHELL, IN) - 40 witnesses testified Tuesday during the nearly 10 hour public hearing involving the Mitchell school board and Dr. Alva Sibbitt.

The school board had originally hired Sibbitt to fill the seat of former Mitchell Community School Superintendent John Lantis.

On December 9th, Sibbitt was arrested following a traffic stop in Paoli which led to him being put on paid leave while board members considered his future with the school corporation.

A final decision on whether or not to cancel Sibbitt's contract is expected at the board's next meeting on April 11th.
