(BEDFORD, IN) - A 16-year-old Junior with local ties was killed Saturday at Sugerloaf Ski Resort in Maine.

Joshua Waldron died when he hit snow-making equipment along one of the resort's most difficult trails.

Waldron's paternal grandparents, Jerry and Sandi Waldron, live in Bedford, along with his paternal great-grandparents, Fred and Angie Waldron.

Waldron was born in Indianapolis and excelled in a variety of sporting activities.

Josh's father states, "there's something about being a part of this culture that draws you in.

Josh got it from a very young age.

He just knew what it meant to be a skier and what it meant to live this life."
