(LINTON, IN) - A fight between two women in a downtown Linton parking lot early Saturday sent one woman to jail for allegedly pulling out and using a knife.

The other woman was taken to the emergency room stitches. Police say that 28-year-old Cheryl Rita Marie Denise Byrd at first told police that her name was Denise Palmer.

Byrd has since been charged with battery with a deadly weapon.

The fight between the two women taking place behind the Bottoms Up Tavern was broken up when officers arrived at the scene.

Nakita Rogers suffered scratches to her chest and face and a laceration to her left shoulder.
