Officer In Trouble For Failing To Get Rid Of Drugs, Live Ammunition

Last updated on Wednesday, December 15, 2010

(NASHVILLE, IN) - A sheriff’s sergeant is facing potential disciplinary action after he was allegedly ordered to clean evidence out of the old Brown County Jail and failed to do so, resulting in demolition workers finding drugs, live ammunition and paperwork in the rubble.

Brown County Sheriff Sergeant Mike Moore told merit board members Tuesday night he wanted to speak to a lawyer before answering any of their questions.

Items workers found while demolishing the old jail included a Rubbermaid tub holding 20 pounds of marijuana from 1997.
