(ORLEANS, IN) - Democratic incumbent Sandy Blanton lost her bid for re-election as State Representative in District 62, falling to Republican challenger Matt Ubelhor.

Ubelhor says that he will be going to Indianapolis as early as Wednesday to meet with party leaders to prepare for the job ahead.

Blanton had served three-years in the state representative's post after having been appointed to fill the unexpired term of Jerry Denbo, who retired mid-term.

District 62 includes portions of Lawrence, Orange, Greene, Martin and Washington counties.
