(SEYMOUR, IN) - State and federal police have eradicated more than 19,000 marijuana plants with a street of value of $47.5 million throughout the state of Indiana.
On August 23rd several Indiana agencies converged on Southern Indiana to concentrate efforts on illegal marijuana grow operations within the Hoosier National Forest and other remote state and federally owned property.
This cooperative effort, named "Operation Hoosier Thunder" utilized Blackhawk helicopters to patrol the area.
The largest grow was discovered in the Hoosier National Forest in Jackson County, where 7,513 plants were located.
No arrests have been made at this time but investigators are still following up on leads.
