(BIRDSEYE, IN) - A 22-month-old Orange County child drowned in her grandmother’s pool Sunday morning.
According to a press release from the Orange County Sheriff's Department Ashlyn Scott was pronounced dead at Bloomington Hospital of Orange County at 9:43AM.
Public Information Officer Bill Fullington says that Ashlyn and her 5-year-old brother woke up early Sunday morning and decided to go swimming.
The release states "Ashlyn's brother pulled her from the pool and woke his parents." Medical crews attempted to revive the child but were unsuccessful.
Ashlyn's parents, Adam and Anna Scott of Milltown were visiting Adam's parents near Patoka Lake when the drowning occurred.
