Police Say Former Mitchell Resident's Murder Was Robbery Related

(CRAWFORDSVILLE, IN) - Crawfordsville Police have arrested a man for the murder of his former landlord.

37-year-old Robert A. Shute of Lafayette was arrested for the death of former Mitchell resident, Brenda Stuckey.

Investigators say robbery was the motive when the 62-year-old woman was beaten to death with a hammer on July 26th.

Investigators say they found Shute's vehicle with "trace" evidence inside, along with the murder weapon and a purse with money inside.

Shute is now in the Tippecanoe County Jail.
