(MITCHELL, IN) - The Mitchell Police Department is investigating a complaint filed against one of its officers.
Chad Gilstrap filed the complaint Tuesday, claiming officer Cory Knowles used excessive force by spraying Gilstrap's 12-year-old daughter with pepper spray.
He also told police that Knowles made "racial comments" during a traffic stop Thursday night where the initial incident occurred.
Mitchell Police Chief Jerry Presnell is currently looking for witnesses in the investigation.
