(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - An off-duty officer who normally shares Indiana State Police news is now a part of it.
Sergeant Curt Durnil, who serves as a Public Information Officer for the Bloomington post, says he was returning from the Indiana State Fair with his son when he witnessed the aftermath of a crash.
After speaking with some of the accident victims, Sgt. Durnil learned the man who caused the crash had been drinking.
Durnil was able to arrest 32-year-old Edgar Martinez as he tried to cross a guard rail near the interstate.
