Two Arrested Following Mitchell Heroin Overdose

Last updated on Tuesday, July 6, 2010

(MITCHELL, IN) - Two people were arrested in the city of Mitchell following the deadly overdose of one man.

Police officials say that 39-year-old Michael Dustin Moore, son of Mitchell City Council President Dwight Moore and 56-year-old Gerald Pickett have been charged with dealing a narcotic.

Investigators believe that William Alan Napier died from a heroin overdose.

Witnesses say that Danya Sorrells, Kristy Byers, Michael Moore and Napier left a Mitchell bar when they decided to use heroin.

Kristy Byers says that she then observed Moore inject Napier with heroin which may have caused the overdose.

The others present that night disagree with Byers claim.
