Storms Cause Floods; Blow Down Trees In Bloomington

Last updated on Tuesday, June 15, 2010

(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - Central Indiana is recovering from a round of quick-hitting storms.

These storms produced the ominous cloud "rotation" that indicates a possibility of tornadoes.

The National Weather Service will look for confirmation of funnel cloud sightings reported by trained spotters and police agencies in Greene and Owen counties and other locations.

There is damage to several hangars at the Shelbyville Airport.

Trees with a diameter of as much as 14 inches are down in Bloomington.

The weather service says many locations got one to two inches of rain or more, per hour, creating a threat of flash flooding.
