Last updated on Thursday, June 24, 2010

(BLOOMFIELD, IN) - A Greene County highway was closed for several hours Wednesday afternoon after a coal truck flipped over, injuring the driver and scattering coal across the highway.

Police say that the driver had already managed to climb out of the overturned vehicle by the time officers arrived at the scene of the State Road 45 wreck.

Melvin R. Clingerman from Terre Haute was taken to Bloomington Hospital.

The highway was closed from 1:00PM until 3:00PM in order for the vehicle to be recovered and for the coal to be removed from the roadway.
