Clerk-Treasurer To Plead Guilty For Bank Fraud

(BROWNSTOWN, IN) - A former Brownstown Clerk-Treasurer is expected to plead guilty in New Albany to one count of bank fraud.

56-year-old Rebecka Fee, who now lives in New Albany has been accused of bilking more than $369,000 from Brownstown tax collections during her work as a clerk-treasurer.

A court official says that a hearing on Fee's plea agreement will likely take place within 60 days.

Fee was suspended as clerk-treasurer on October 19th of 2009.

Assistant U.S. Attorney James M. Warden, who is prosecuting the case for the government, says that Fee faces a maximum of 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine.
