3-Year-Old Seymour Girl Killed In Car Collision

(NORTH VERNON, IN) - A 3-year-old Seymour toddler was killed in a Wednesday morning car wreck.

Jennings County Sheriff's Department is investigating the fatal wreck that claimed the life of the young girl and left two other young children critically injured.

Police say that 31-year-old Shannon M. Root was driving on County Road 400E in Jennings County when she failed to stop at a stop sign and drove into the path of 19-year-old Dylan Herche.

3-year-old Tory Root, a passenger in Roots vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of the impact.

Officers say that two other children, ages 5 and 11, were critically injured.
