Two Teenagers Arrested For Burning Church Vans

(CRAWFORD COUNTY) - Tuesday afternoon Indiana State Police arrested 19 year old James Merideth, Jr. and a 17-year-old male juvenile, both from English, for allegedly torching two church vans at Wesleyan Church in English.

Indiana State Police initiated an investigation after being contacted by the English Volunteer Fire Department regarding two church vans that were intentionally torched while parked at the church.

The alleged incident occurred on May 3rd, and the fire department quickly extinguished the fire and noticed cloth like material in the fill tube of one of the vans.

During the investigation, Indiana State Police were able to gather evidence to obtain arrest warrants for Merideth and the male juvenile.

The investigation is continuing and troopers expect an additional arrest.
