Seymour Police Warning Of Telephone Scams

Last updated on Wednesday, May 19, 2010

(SEYMOUR, IN) - Seymour Police are advising residents to be aware of several international telephone calls from a man asking for money to buy food.

Residents are urged to not offer any identifying information when receiving telephone solicitations.

"If there are any questions about whether it's a legitimate business, we suggest you ask them to send you a letter about themselves or call the police or the Better Business Bureau," stated Sergeant Ryan Huddleston.

He says most scam businesses won't bother to send anything by mail.
