(MITCELL, IN) - The city of Mitchell recently rose over $3,000 to support the American Legion Clothe-A-Child.
Mitchell Mayor Dan Terrell, held the dancing contest between Gene McCracken and Ed Epping, using his birthday as an excuse to hold the event and raise the money.
Terrell says that donations to the event are still coming in but so far, the event has raised more than $3, 000.
The mayor states "this proves that even in tough times the citizens of Lawrence County can come together and support a great cause."
