(BEDFORD, IN) - Weekend lightening is believed to be the cause of at least two house fires in Lawrence County.
According to Lawrence County fire officials, one Mitchell home was saved from complete destruction and another home was destroyed in the Bartlettsville area.
In the Mitchell fire, lightening is believed to have traveled through an electrical outlet and caught a mattress on fire.
In the Bartlettsville fire, one fire official who lived nearby, heard an explosion and then called his department to the scene.
