(SPRINGVILLE, IN) - Springville resident Jennifer Bex lost her fight with cancer on Saturday.
According to obituary information released from Day & Carter Mortuary, Bex passed away Saturday evening at St. Vincent Inpatient Hospice in Indianapolis.
A fund-raising event was held Saturday from 9:00AM until 6:00PM to help raise money for the Bex family. Hundreds attended the event and raised a more that $6,750 for the cause.
Bex died less than five hours later.
Heather Prince, a former student of Bex at the Indiana Cosmetology Academy started the fundraiser.
Prince states that with the amount of money raised, "that just goes to show that there are people in Lawrence County who still care about the well being of others."
Prince would like to thank, Amanda Childers, Kelsey Sullivan and Sarah Hickerson for helping with coordinating the event and also to Johnny's Junxion for allowing the event to take place on the gas station property.
