(VINCENNES, IN) - Vincennes University has been given the “Tree Campus USA” title for both its Vincennes and Jasper campuses.
To achieve the honor, an application was submitted to the Arbor Day Foundation that demonstrated that the university effectively manages campus trees, has a Campus Tree Advisory Committee, a Campus Tree Care Plan, a dedicated annual expenditure for campus trees, an annual Arbor Day observance, and a service learning project.
The college maintains the trees as part of a plan to transform the campus into a model of environmental leadership.
