Last updated on Friday, April 23, 2010

(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - Unsafe speed has been listed as a contributing factor in an accident that killed one man and sent another to the hospital Wednesday evening.

According to police reports, the wreck occurred on Highway 446 when 55-year-old Herschel Parrish of Terre Haute "entered a right-hand curve too fast and lost control of the pickup truck he was driving..."

The truck then left the right side of the road, rolling down a rocky embankment.

Parrish was taken to Bloomington Hospital and later to Methodist Hospital, suffering a "non-incapacitating" injury to the head.

He was treated and released on Thursday.

51-year-old Steven Parrish, a passenger in the vehicle, was ejected from the truck and died at the scene.
