(MITCHELL, IN) - Official information has been released on the settlement agreement between former Mitchell Police Officer Randy Phelix and the city of Mitchell.
Although the settlement included a confidentiality provision, which barred both sides of the case from talking about the settlement, an open records request was filed with Mitchell City Attorney Bill Mullis, which requires the city to release the documents of the settlement.
Randy Phelix and his attorney will receive $39,000 to settle Phelix's lawsuit against the city.
The lawsuit was filed September 23rd and was settled on March 29th.
