Martinsville Officers Return To Duty After Stun-Gun Incident

Last updated on Wednesday, April 21, 2010

(MARTINSVILLE, IN) - The Martinsville police officers being investigated for using a stun-gun last month on a 10-year-old boy are back at work.

Captain William Jennings and Officer Darren Johnson will be assigned to desk duty as Morgan County Prosecutor Steven Sonnega looks into possible criminal charges against them.

Sonnega says he is awaiting findings from the police department before proceeding with his investigation.

That information isn't expected to arrive on his desk until next week.

Jennings, who is a 36-year veteran of the department, allegedly slapped the boy in the face.

Johnson is accused of using a hand-held stun gun on the child's upper arm outside of a Martinsville day care center.
