(JUDAH, IN) - A car collision blocked traffic on Highway 37 for more than an hour Tuesday afternoon near Judah.

According to Public Information Sergeant Curt Durnill, 72-year-old Joseph H. Roberts was traveling on Washboard Road when he pulled his vehicle into moving traffic on Highway 37, colliding with an oncoming van.

31-year-old Corey T. Eckman attempted to swerve into the right hand lane to avoid the collision but failed in the attempt, which resulted in his van sliding on its side, then coming to rest on its top.

Both drivers were taken to Dunn Hospital with Roberts complaining of pain to his head, neck, and back and Eckman suffering lacerations and bleeding to his head and face.

Both drivers were also cited in the incident.

Roberts was cited for failing to yield the right of way with Eckman cited for driving while suspended.
