Police: Body Was Discovered By Family Members

Last updated on Thursday, April 8, 2010

(FRUITDALE, IN) - The body of a missing elderly woman was discovered by her family Wednesday night in a creek along LaSalle Road in Brown County.

Preliminary investigations reveal that Muriel Schilling, who is believed to be in her 80's, was reported missing by members of her family and was discovered less than an hour later by the same relatives.

Detectives say that the creek had run over its banks due to the heavy rain experienced in the area.

At this point in the investigation, police do not believe that foul play was involved.

Police are now waiting for the cause of death as determined by the Brown County Coroner.
