(CROTHERSVILLE, IN) - Two people were killed early Wednesday on Interstate 65 in Scott County near the Jackson County line.
Police reports indicate that 82-year-old Willard Vanessen of Grand Rapids, Michigan was driving south along I-65 near when his vehicle veered off the road for unknown reasons and struck a parked, unoccupied van.
Vanessen's vehicle then spun around in the driving lane and was struck head-on by 20-year-old Ricky E. Butcher of Austin.
Vanessen's wife, Arlene was pronounced dead at the scene with Butcher later dying at a Louisville hospital.
Vanessen suffered multiple injuries in the wreck.
