(BEDFORD, IN) - Lawrence County police officials were called to the scene of a reported domestic battery on Porter Lane in Lawrence County over the weekend.
According to police reports, John Phillips and his wife had gotten into an argument when John left the house.
His wife tells police that Phillips returned to the house the next morning, trashed the residence, battered the woman and held her against her will before disabling her vehicle and taking their 2-year-old child.
The child was later returned to its mother.
John was booked into the Lawrence County Jail for domestic battery charges in the presence of a minor and battery with bodily injury to a pregnant woman.
