Man Critically Injured In Early Morning Wreck

(HURON, IN) - An early morning car wreck left one Bedford man seriously injured.

According to police reports, 41-year-old Alan E. Russell was traveling on U.S. Highway 50 at around 12:48AM this morning when his vehicle veered off the road, hit several trees and came to rest on an embankment.

Russell was discovered unconscious and trapped beneath the wreckage.

Reports indicate that the man was trapped in his car for about an hour as crews worked to pull him from the wreckage.

He was then flown by helicopter to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

He has since been listed in critical condition at the hospital.
