K-9 Discovers 13.5 Pounds Of Marijuana During Traffic Stop

(SEYMOUR, IN) - A Jackson County police dog is being hailed for the discovery of more than 13 pounds on marijuana Tuesday evening inside the car of two Tennessee men.

According to police, Trooper Stephen Wheeles had stopped a 1995 Mazda on Interstate 65 for a traffic violation when he became suspicious of the two and decided to walk K-9 Kane around the vehicle.

Kane then alerted that drugs were inside the car.

29-year-old Randall Sturgill of Crossville, Tennessee and 19-year-old Joshua Diehl of Lafollette, Tennessee were arrested for the crime.

The two now face charges of dealing in marijuana and possession of more than 30 grams of marijuana.
