(NORMAN, IN) - A Jackson County woman is accused of stealing money from the Owen Township Volunteer Fire Department while she served as Treasurer.

State Police say 54-year-old Deborah Kay Fleetwood was charged with felony theft for taking an undisclosed amount of money from the fire department account.

Her arrest stems from a lengthy criminal investigation that began in 2009 following an Indiana State Board of Accounts audit.
