(UNDATED) - With warmer weather and moisture in Indiana recently, some weather forecasters are saying it could bring a rough tornado season.
Indiana Meteorologist Jim O'Brien says the warming of Pacific waters prompting El Nino's or La Nina's could play a part in producing more tornadoes than normal in the mid-west.
O'Brien says tornadoes can happen at any time of the year and really any place in the U.S.
He says if you get enough cold enough air and drier air punching into the atmosphere, that will ignite thunderstorms.
O'Brien says we have seen a lack of violent tornadoes in Indiana recently and says quite frankly, "we're due".
