Possible Bayh Replacement Scurrying For Signatures

Last updated on Tuesday, February 16, 2010

(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - Senator Evan Bayh’s decision to not seek re-election means there’s just a single democrat left in the race.

Bloomington restaurant owner Tamyra D'ippolito is scrambling to collect signatures by today's 12:00PM deadline.

D'ippolito said yesterday she still needs about 1,000 signatures to make it official.

Her campaign Monday sent an e-mail to democratic leaders, asking for help while criticizing them for failing to provide previous support.

The e-mail claims D'ippolito's candidacy had been "thwarted" by inaction by democrats at the local level.
