(BLOOMFIELD, IN) - A Bloomfield man was taken into police custody Tuesday morning for allegedly taking stealing electrical wiring.
Police officials discovered a Jeep Cheroke parked along Shingle Mill Road with a note that said the vehicle had broken down and would soon be removed.
Officers then checked an abandoned residence near the car where they caught 44-year-old Gregory Thatcher in the act.
The man the fled the scene and led officers on a brief chase.
Authorities say that Thatcher was taken into police custody.
