(UNDATED) - A winter storm warning continues today for much of southern and central Indiana.
The National Weather Service says that Indiana can expect 3 to 6 inches of snow with the Lawrence County area possibly receiving 5 to 7 inches.
Meteorologists say the snow will begin to taper off this afternoon.
Valerie Luchauer, Director of Emergency Management for Lawrence County, says that commissioners and emergency management personnel have issued a travel "watch" after reviewing the county's road conditions.
A watch means that "conditions threaten the safety of the public and only essential travel is recommended."
Residents are still allowed to go to and from work and make emergency trips, such as those to get medicine or to see a doctor.
Tuesday's forecast calls for flurries and then it will begin to warm up later on in the week.
