Grissom Home Recieves Financial Boost

(Mitchell, IN) - The Gus Grissom Boyhood Home received a financial boost Saturday night during a silent auction that took place at the First Baptist Church Christian Life Center in Mitchell.

Allan Hackney, museum coordinator says that almost $2,000 dollars was raised for Grissom's boyhood home which is located Grissom Avenue.

This was the 2nd fundraising event in the past few months to benefit the Grissom home.

The boyhood home of NASA Astronaut Virgil I. (Gus) Grissom is targeted to open as a living museum in July of 2010.

Donations can be made mailed to Virgil I. Grissom Memorial Inc., 1017 Rariden Hill, Mitchell, IN 47446.
