Columbus Police Standoff Ends Peacefully

(COLUMBUS, IN) - Standoff ended peacefully in Columbus on Monday.

Columbus Police took a man into custody Monday afternoon after negotiating with him for over two hours.

Police say the incident stemmed from an argument with a neighbor.

The neighbor saw the man with a shotgun near Thornybrook Drive and Rosebud in Briarwood Apartments.

The home is near Smith Elementary School, which was locked down.

The man has not been identified, but he is being evaluated by medical staff.
