(PIKEVILLE, IN) - A Dubois County woman and her grandson are said to have died instantly as a result of a mini van accident Tuesday.

Pike County Sheriff Deputies were to Highway 64 near the Dubois-Pike County Line when a 2001 Dodge Caravan had apparently became airborne striking an embankment.

48-year-old Theresa Christmas and 7-year-old Timothy Christmas were pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say that both were wearing seat belts with the 7-year-old sitting in a booster seat.

Theresa was traveling to Vincennes to visit a sister when the accident occurred.

The accident is under investigation.
