Man Flown To Hospital Following ATV Wreck

(CROTHERSVILLE, IN) - Authorities say that a Jackson County man was flown to the University of Louisville Hospital New Years Day following a 4-wheeler wreck.

Indiana State Police responded to the wreck on County Road 950 East in Jackson County.

Preliminary investigations conducted by Trooper Jared Black, indicate that Charles W. Kinworthy, the driver of the 4-wheeler, and his passenger, Robin L. Freeman, were Northbound on County Road 700 West, when for unknown reasons, Kinworthy lost control of the four-wheeler and crashed into the ditch near the road.

Both, driver and passenger were pinned under the four-wheeler for several hours, before being discovered by a newspaper delivery person.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.

33-year-old Charles W. Kinworthy of Crothersville, was flown to University Louisville Hospital suffering from critical internal injuries.

The passenger 26-year-old Robin L. Freeman of Crothersville, was transported to Scott County Memorial Hospital for internal injuries.

Agencies assisting at the scene were the Crothersville Fire Department and Jackson County EMS.
