(BEDFORD, IN) - A 16-year-old teenager crashed his vehicle into an abandoned house Monday morning at around 8:30AM.
Police reports indicate that Larry Mathis was traveling on Old Highway 50 East, when the boy slowed his brakes as he approached a curve when the vehicle slid off of the side of the road, hit a tree branch and then crashed into the front porch of a building before coming to a stop.
The teen, who did not sustain any injuries in the wreck, informed police at the scene that when he tried to slow down his truck, the brakes did not work.
Authorities then checked the brakes to discover that nothing was wrong.
Black ice was also spotted on the road.
