Semi Driver Killed In Crash

(COLUMBUS, IN) - Indiana State Police were investigating to numerous car crashes and slide-offs on I-65 in Bartholomew and Jackson Counties Thursday.

According to police officials, authorities recieved reports of a semi wreck at around 10:00AM Thursday morning.

Police say that 58-year-old Terry L. Ingle of Greentown was transporting freight north from Louisville, KY to Plainfield when, for an unknown reasons, the semi left the slick and snow covered roadway, crossed a median and left the roadway and crashed into a large brush pile.

Trooper Neil Beiriger and a couple of passer-bys, provided medical support to Ingle until ambulances services arrived at the scene.

The man was later pronounced dead at the scene by the Bartholomew County Coroner.

Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the crash; the victim was wearing his seat-belt at the time of the crash.
