Man Stabbed While Separating Argument

(SEYMOUR, IN) - A Seymour man who stepped in between two people arguing Sunday night was stabbed in the abdomen.

Police officials say that 28-year-old Gabriel Santiago Arroyo of Seymour, was taken to Schneck Medical Center in stable condition following the stabbing.

Police later arrested 37-year-old Alfredo Gutierrez-Sanchez of Seymour at the Orchard Apartments, being charged with battery with a deadly weapon, a Class C felony, criminal recklessness causing serious injury and interference with reporting a crime.

Gutierrez-Sanchez remained in jail Monday evening.

It is unknown what caused the initial argument.
