Man Arrested On Battery, Strangulation Charges

Last updated on Thursday, January 14, 2010

(BEDFORD, IN) - A Bedford man was arrested Wednesday evening for allegedly causing his wife to fall out of a moving vehicle.

Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley says that Daniel Luttrell and his wife had been arguing when the wife decided to go and stay at a friend's house.

The woman later told police that her husband had come over to the friends house to pick her up.

While the couple was traveling on Lincoln Avenue in Bedford, the man reportedly grabbed the woman by the neck and as the woman tried to get away from Luttrell, she opened her door and fell out of the vehicle, that according to the woman.

Chief Parsley, who describes the incident as a "he said, she said situation" says that the woman filed reports with police claiming that Luttrell had battered her.

Luttrell later came to the police station to file reports stating that his wife had instead battered him.

Luttrell was taken into police custody facing charges of strangulation and battery in the presence of a child as the couple's 18-month-old son sat in the back-seat of the car.
