United Way Offices Find Temporary Home Following Fire

Last updated on Tuesday, December 29, 2009

(COLUMBUS, IN) - Agencies displaced by the Christmas Eve fire at the United Way in Bartholomew County will be able to set up temporary offices in the Cummins Engine Plant in downtown Columbus.

Doug Otto, President of United Way of Bartholomew County, announced the company's offer of 60,000 square feet of space during a meeting of the affected agencies Monday morning at city hall.

Agencies were also told it will be at least two weeks before they can enter parts of the building to check on their offices.

The investigation into the cause of the fire began Monday.

Authorities believe an electrical problem is the most likely the cause.
